Here are some concepts of Huk Elder/Priest ranks.
The full drawing is a Huk elder/priest apprentice knelt in the presence of his mentor, who is the existing elder/priest, holding the traditional apprentice staff.
There can be only one apprentice at a time to an existing elder/priest. They are mainly males chosen at birth (5% are chosen to be elder/priest as to 45% chosen to be warriors), the ones who survive to be sub-adults are then tested, all have a different and difficult task, those who survive their task (2 of the 8 chosen survive) go on to be true apprentices. For an apprentice to learn everything, it takes 4-10 years to get everything memorized, even though they have written copies of their history.
The three head shots are:
Apprentice shroud - it has three semi-white feathers and two pairs of strips next to eye.
Ceremonial masks - it has five semi-white to gray feathers and half neck cover.
Fully honored mask - it has six gray to black-based semi-white feathers as well as broad necklace.
